30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY UPDATE

In August of 2007, M and E staff celebrated our 30 years in business. The celebration was held at the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, Arizona. The Tanque Verde Ranch has been the site for major national events held by M and E, and as a classic "dude" ranch, holds a special place for us.

Part of our celebration was the viewing of a PowerPoint presentation, which focused on our history, the Tanque Verde experience, and our current status and future.

SERVICE UPDATES

To assist district staff to initiate research designed to meet requirements to implement programs which meet the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) definition of scientifically based research (SBR), M and E has prepared the Summary of Scientifically Based Research: Resources for the NCLB, a summary of the top basic resources in the areas of curriculum and instruction, bilingual/English as a second language, professional development, parent involvement, safe and drug free schools, technology and vocational education.

STAFF UPDATES

Bob Slivka, President of M and E, served on the Assessment Steering Committee for the U. S. Office of Education's Region III Comprehensive Regional Assistance Center at George Washington University in Washington, D. C.

Bob served on the Advisory Committee on Standards and Assessment for The Education Law Center in Newark, New Jersey. 

Bob is a Field Reader for the Office of Post Secondary Education, U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D. C.

Bob and Mary Beth Slivka, Vice President of M and E, served on the IASA Title VII Advisory Group, for the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
